The Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home is a family owned and operated funeral home serving families in Binghamton and the surrounding areas since 1936.  We are held in high regard for the compassionate and highly personalized service we provide to friends and neighbors in our community.

In 2018 we are pleased to commemorate 82 years of service to the greater Binghamton area.  Over the past nine years, we have completed an extensive interior and exterior renovations to our facility, enabling us to better meet the needs of the families we serve and we have plans to continue making additional improvements throughout the year ahead.

Our staff is knowledgeable in a broad range of religious and cultural traditions and can provide any service that honors the life and values of those we serve. Over the years, Kurt Eschbach has had occasion to assist in providing services to over 4,500 families of all backgrounds. He has experience and knowledge of the customs associated with all branches of Christianity and Judaism and is experienced in providing traditional Buddhist, Sikh and Hindu ceremonies, as well as secular non-religious services.

About Us

Since 1936 the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home has been assisting with the final care of our friends and neighbors at the time of their death.

In April 2009, Kurt M Eschbach purchased the funeral home from Edgar Hopler and extensively renovated and restored the interior and exterior of the funeral home.  Since 2009,  we are pleased to say that we have made over $400,000 in improvements to our facility, furnishings, and grounds, all to provide a more comfortable and useful environment to serve you better. We provide off-street parking for over 60 vehicles and seating for around 125 people.

Kurt is a licensed funeral director with over 30 years of experience serving families in need. Our Facilities

Recently remodeled and updated, the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home provides comfortable and spacious facilities to meet the different needs of each family we serve

The main building was built as a private residence in the late 1800's and still displays the decorative charm of period cherry woodwork, stained glass windows, a beautiful Victorian fireplace and elegant lighting fixtures that blend nicely with our spacious addition built in 1970, that can readily seat over 110 people for a funeral or memorial service or it can be divided into up to three individual rooms for smaller services or private gatherings.

Hopler & Eschbach funeral home provides off street parking for over 60 cars and convenient access to all major highways. Our central location makes us a convenient choice for those attending a service and easy access to local cemeteries
