Where Family Matters

PLEASE VISIT PAINESVILLE LOCATION PAGE FOR PRICING INFORMATION My name is Marc F. Burr and I am a 6th generation Funeral Director born & raised in Chardon. I have lived and worked in Geauga & Lake Counties my entire life. After 13 years of proudly serving our community at the Burr Funeral Home in Chardon, the time arrived to go a different way. I want to provide a more family-centric and community-based funeral service. Growing up working in my family’s business I witnessed firsthand the importance of a family owned and operated funeral home. It has been my honor and privilege to serve the families of Geauga County in their time of need as a licensed funeral director for over 17 years. I cherish the relationships I have created with so many of you and cannot express how important this has been to me. I am very proud to announce that I have purchased the Potti Funeral Homes of Lake County and am now able to serve you as Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes of Painesville, Madison and Fairport Harbor. As of Spring 2020, I have partnered with DeJohn Funeral Homes of Chardon to be able to offer Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes of Chardon. My wife, Ashley, and I chose to raise our family in Chardon. My sons, Warner and Franklin, will attend school there. We shop in the same stores, attend the same church and probably know many of the same people. Ashley and I know that FAMILY matters: mine and yours. It is the cornerstone of what makes this community so wonderful; the overwhelming commitment to building a family. My grandparents, Francis Hoch and Hal Marcus Burr met while Francis was enrolled at Fairport High School. I’m a trained funeral director, embalmer, advanced planning counselor and restorative art specialist. This allows me to provide personal, specialized attention to guide your family through the necessary decisions at one of the hardest times we face as humans - the death of a loved one. I will continue to serve families with compassion and professionalism in the comfortable, tasteful surroundings that our community is so well known for. I was always taught that the community in which you work is like family. Your involvement in the community is paramount. Following that lead, I am a member of Village Lodge #274 F&AM, Fraternal Order of Eagles Geauga Aerie #2261, Chardon VFW Post #6519 Auxiliary, Past President of Burton-Middlefield Rotary, member of Painesville Rotary, member of the Sons of the American Legion in Madison, member of Pilgrim Christian Church, as well as a parishioner with my family of the Church of St. Mary in Chardon and former CHS Freshman Football Coach. My wife and I live and participate in the community full time. We are here to stay. If you see us out and about, please introduce yourself. I look forward to serving your family for years to come. I encourage you to take the time to become informed and consider all your options, including traditional and non-traditional service offerings. If you’ve never considered prearranging a funeral or you’re having second thoughts about with whom you’ve prearranged know that changing your mind is always an option. All preneed policies are fully transferrable according to Ohio Law. To discuss all your service options, including transferring preneed arrangements, call me. I’m happy to assist you. I will help your money go further while offering superior service.
